The short answer

To find a dental clinic in Antalya you can trust, first confirm exactly where it is: Antalya is a large province, and a clinic in Alanya or Kemer is a long way from a hotel in Lara. Then check three things yourself: the clinic appears on the Ministry of Health's list of facilities authorised for international health tourism under the province Antalya; your dentist appears in the Turkish Dental Association's 'Dişhekimi Bul' search; and the legal name on your quotation, invoice and payment details matches. Get an itemised written quote and plan the holiday part around the treatment, not the other way round.

  • "Antalya" is a province, not just a city. Ask for the clinic's district and full address before you book a hotel.
  • Turkish law defines four kinds of private dental facility: practice, polyclinic, centre and hospital. Knowing which one you are dealing with tells you who owns and runs it.
  • You can check the clinic and the dentist yourself, for free, on official Turkish lists, filtered by the province Antalya.
  • Inside the clinic, the dentist's work certificate (çalışma belgesi) should be on display in the treatment room. Look for it.
  • Plan beach days, flights and excursions around your treatment schedule, and ask your dentist what to avoid afterwards.

Antalya is one of the places people most often have in mind when they search for dental treatment in Türkiye. It has an international airport, a long tourist season and a great many clinics advertising to visitors in English, German, Russian and the Scandinavian languages.

That choice is both the advantage and the problem. This guide is written from Antalya, where our team is based. It doesn't name the "best" clinic, because no one can honestly do that without examining you. It shows you how to find a clinic here and check it yourself, using the same official sources a local would use.

First: where in Antalya, exactly?

Antalya is a province, not only a city. A clinic advertised as "in Antalya" may be in any of its districts:

  • The city itself: Muratpaşa (which includes the Lara area and the old town, Kaleiçi), Konyaaltı and Kepez.
  • Resort towns along the coast: Kemer to the south-west; Serik (Belek), Manavgat (Side) and Alanya to the east; Kaş further west.

Alanya, for example, is well over 100 km from Antalya city. That matters more for dental treatment than for a beach holiday, because treatment usually means several appointments, sometimes on consecutive days.

Before you book a hotel, ask the clinic:

  1. What is your full street address and district?
  2. How long does it take to get from my hotel (or the airport) to you?
  3. Is transport between my hotel and the clinic included for every appointment, or only on arrival?

Know what kind of facility you're dealing with

Turkish law sets out four kinds of private dental facility in the 2022 regulation on oral and dental health services (Official Gazette No. 31975, Art. 4 and 5):

Type Turkish name Who can open it
Dental practice muayenehane One dentist licensed to practise independently. A company cannot open one.
Dental polyclinic poliklinik A company belonging to one or more such dentists.
Dental centre merkez A dentists' company, or a company at least 51% owned by dentists.
Dental hospital hastane A company.

Every one of them must have a responsible manager (mesul müdür): a dentist who is a Turkish citizen and who answers to the authorities for how the facility operates (Art. 17). Practices and polyclinics are licensed by the provincial governorship; centres and hospitals by the Ministry of Health (Art. 13).

None of this tells you about the quality of treatment. It does tell you who owns the clinic and who is accountable, which is useful when something needs fixing later. Ask the clinic which type it is, and who its responsible manager is.

Check the clinic and the dentist yourself

You don't need to take a clinic's word for its status. Three free checks, all filtered by the province Antalya:

  1. The clinic. Under the 2025 Regulation on International Health Tourism (Official Gazette No. 32882), facilities providing health tourism services need a Ministry of Health authorisation certificate. The Ministry's Health Tourism Department publishes the authorised facilities as PDF lists, sorted by province. Dental polyclinics usually appear in the "other facilities" list and individual practices in the "practices" list. Search for the clinic's official name, which is often different from its Instagram name.
  2. The dentist. Ask for the full name of the dentist who will plan and carry out your treatment. Search it in the Turkish Dental Association's Dişhekimi Bul (Find a Dentist) box on tdb.org.tr, choosing Antalya as the province.
  3. The agency, if any. If a coordinator or agency is arranging things, look it up on HealthTürkiye's list of authorised agencies, which can be filtered by city.

Our guide How to Check a Dental Clinic's Credentials in Türkiye walks through each list step by step, including what to do if a name doesn't appear.

Then make sure the same legal name is on the Ministry list, your written quotation, your invoice and the bank account you are asked to pay.

What to look for when you arrive

A few things are required by the regulation and are easy to notice during your first appointment:

  • The dentist's work certificate. A copy of each dentist's work certificate (çalışma belgesi), approved by the provincial health directorate, must be displayed in the treatment room where patients can see it (Art. 14). Check that the name matches the dentist treating you.
  • Staff ID cards. Staff must wear an ID card with their photo (Art. 19). This helps you tell the dentist from the coordinator or the interpreter.
  • The facility's name. Signs and documents may only use the names and titles in the facility's operating permit (Art. 25). If the name on the door differs from the one on your quote, ask why.

Insider note: In Antalya, the person who meets you at the airport, the person who translates and the person who treats you are often three different people. All three can be helpful. Only one of them is clinically responsible for your treatment, so make sure you know who that is.

Plan the holiday around the treatment

The appeal of Antalya is that treatment and a holiday can happen in the same trip. That works best when the treatment sets the timetable:

  • Ask for a written, day-by-day treatment schedule before you book flights, including the number of visits and any waiting time between stages. Some treatments need a second trip months later. Ask whether yours does.
  • Ask your dentist what to avoid after each procedure, such as swimming, strong sun, alcohol, certain foods or flying, and for how long. Then plan excursions and boat trips around the answer.
  • Leave a margin before your flight home. If a fitting needs adjusting, you want time to come back to the clinic.
  • Think about the season. July and August are Antalya's busiest months. Clinics and hotels are at their fullest, and the heat can make recovery days less comfortable.

The UK General Dental Council and the GOV.UK Turkey travel advice both suggest thinking through aftercare and what happens if something goes wrong once you're home. Our guide to follow-up care before returning home has the questions to settle.

Eight questions to ask an Antalya clinic

  1. What is your official name, facility type and full address?
  2. Which list of authorised health tourism facilities are you on, and under which name?
  3. What is the full name of the dentist who will treat me, and will the same dentist do all the work?
  4. Who is your responsible manager (mesul müdür)?
  5. Can I have an itemised written quotation, including what isn't included? (See What Does a Dental Quotation Really Include?)
  6. How many appointments will I need, on which days, and how far is the clinic from my hotel?
  7. Who receives my deposit, and on what terms is it refundable? (See Before You Pay a Dental Deposit)
  8. If something needs attention after I fly home, what exactly happens, and who pays for the travel?

A clinic that answers these clearly, in writing, is giving you something more useful than a smile gallery.

Would you like help finding options in Antalya?

Our team lives and works in Antalya, and through our professional work in healthcare accounting and consultancy we know a number of dental clinics here. If you'd like, we can request information or treatment quotations from clinics in Antalya on your behalf, so you can compare them side by side in our Quote Analyzer.

How it works, in short:

  • It's free and optional. We take no fee or commission from clinics for introducing patients.
  • You approve each clinic. Before we contact one, we tell you which clinic, what we'd share and our relationship with it, including whether it is, or has been, a client of our accounting work.
  • Nothing is shared without your permission. Your details, photos and X-rays never go to a clinic unless you agree, separately, for that clinic.
  • The decision stays yours. A professional relationship is not a quality guarantee, so we still encourage you to run the checks above on any clinic, including ones we put you in touch with.

Tell us what treatment you're considering and roughly when you'd like to travel on our Clinic Options page, or simply ask us a question first.

Questions & answers

Frequently asked

Can you recommend a good dental clinic in Antalya?

We don't rank clinics on clinical quality, because nobody can do that responsibly without examining you. But we are based in Antalya, and if you ask us, we can request information or quotations from clinics we know there, free of charge. We tell you our relationship with each clinic before contacting it, and nothing about you is shared without your permission for that clinic. You can ask on our Clinic Options page.

How do I check that a dental clinic in Antalya is licensed?

Ask for the clinic's full official name. Then look for it on the Ministry of Health's 'Yetkili Sağlık Tesisleri' lists, which are sorted by province, under Antalya. Search for the dentist who will treat you in the Turkish Dental Association's 'Dişhekimi Bul' tool, choosing Antalya as the province. Our credentials guide explains each step.

Is Alanya part of Antalya?

Yes. Alanya, Kemer, Manavgat (including Side), Serik (including Belek) and Kaş are districts of Antalya province, as are the city districts Muratpaşa, Konyaaltı and Kepez. A clinic described as "in Antalya" can be in any of them, so ask for the exact address and the travel time from where you will stay.

What is the difference between a dental polyclinic and a dental centre in Türkiye?

Under the 2022 regulation on private oral and dental health facilities, a practice (muayenehane) belongs to one dentist, a polyclinic (poliklinik) to a company owned by dentists, and a centre (merkez) to a company at least 51% owned by dentists. A dental hospital (hastane) can be opened by any company. Every facility must have a responsible manager who is a dentist.

Can I combine dental treatment with a holiday in Antalya?

Many people do, but treatment should set the schedule. Ask the clinic for a written day-by-day plan, including how many visits are needed and how long you must wait between stages. Then ask your dentist what to avoid after each procedure, such as swimming, sun, alcohol or flying, before you book excursions.
