The short answer
Dental prices in Türkiye differ between clinics for legitimate reasons, including different treatment plans, materials and laboratory work, clinician experience, location and overheads, and what the package includes. They can also differ because of intermediary commissions or because items are missing from the cheaper quote. Compare itemised quotations for equivalent plans, and ask each clinic to explain its price in writing.
- A price difference is a question to ask, not an answer in itself.
- First check whether the two quotes even describe the same plan.
- The cheaper quote is sometimes cheaper because it includes less.
- A clear written explanation of a price is useful information in itself.
You send the same photos to three clinics and receive three very different numbers. One looks like a bargain, one looks expensive, and one sits somewhere in between. The natural question is which one is "right".
Usually, none of them is right or wrong on its own. Price differences in dental tourism have real causes, and once you know what they are, a confusing set of numbers becomes a set of useful questions.
First: are you comparing the same thing?
The most common reason two prices differ is that the clinics are proposing different plans. Dentists can reasonably recommend different approaches to the same situation, especially from photos alone.
Before comparing prices, line the plans up:
- Do they propose the same type and amount of work?
- Do they assume the same number of visits?
- Has either clinic said the plan depends on an in-person examination?
If the plans differ, the price comparison isn't meaningful yet. Ask each dentist to explain their reasoning. That is a clinical conversation, and a second opinion from a dentist at home can help.
Legitimate reasons prices differ
Once the plans are comparable, these are the factors that commonly explain the gap.
Materials and laboratory work
Clinics may use different materials and work with different dental laboratories. We don't advise on which materials are suitable. That's a clinical question. But you can reasonably ask each clinic what materials and which laboratory arrangement the price assumes, and to put that in writing.
Clinician experience and team
Clinics differ in who carries out treatment and how teams are organised. Ask who will be responsible for your care.
Location and overheads
A clinic in a prime district of a major city carries different costs from one elsewhere. Rent, staff, equipment and patient services all feed into prices.
What the package includes
One quote may include accommodation, transfers and an interpreter. Another may cover treatment only. See Dental Tourism Packages: What's Included and What's Not?
Reasons worth questioning
Some price differences come from the way an offer is constructed rather than from the treatment itself.
| What you may see | What to ask |
|---|---|
| A much lower total with fewer line items | "What isn't included in this price?" |
| "From" prices or "all-inclusive" without detail | "Can you itemise this?" |
| Items marked "to be confirmed on arrival" | "How will that cost be decided, and can I decline it?" |
| An offer that came through an agency | "Is a commission included in this price?" |
| A discount that expires very soon | "Can I have time to compare, at the same price?" |
Insider note: From the financial side of clinics, we've seen how much the way a quotation is presented can shape how cheap it feels. A low headline number with a long list of exclusions can end up costing more than a higher, complete one. The only reliable comparison is line by line.
How to ask a clinic to explain its price
You don't need to be confrontational. A short, polite message works well:
"Thank you for the quotation. I'm comparing a few options and want to make sure I understand them fairly. Could you list everything included in this price, anything that isn't included, and the materials and laboratory arrangement it assumes?"
A clinic that answers clearly is giving you exactly what you need. A clinic that avoids the question is also telling you something.
Putting it together
- Confirm the plans are comparable.
- Get itemised quotes from each clinic.
- List the inclusions and exclusions side by side.
- Add the likely cost of anything excluded.
- Compare the terms, too: deposit, refund and follow-up.
Our Dental Quote Analyzer does this for up to four clinics, and our guide on comparing two offers fairly walks through each step.

Questions & answers
Frequently asked
Does a higher price mean better quality?
Not necessarily. Price reflects many things, including overheads, location, package contents and commissions. What you can check is whether two quotes describe equivalent plans with equivalent inclusions.
Is a very cheap clinic automatically a bad choice?
No, but a price far below others deserves careful questions. Ask what is included, what is excluded, and why the plan or price differs.
Can I ask a clinic to match another clinic's price?
You can, but be careful. A matched headline price can hide changes in what's included. If a clinic lowers its quote, ask for a new itemised version so you can see what changed.
